DESCRIPTION:Ladies Clinics – Lancelin\nTake your riding to the next level! Join Kiteboarding WA in conjunction with WACK and sponsored by DLGSC\, for a development clinic aimed at wave kitesurfing. The clinic’s aim is to progress and develop female riders’ techniques in wave riding and freestyle.\nThe clinic will be held on Saturday\, 12th March from 12:30pm with riders meeting on the grass outside Lancelin Lodge.\n\n WAVE CLINIC\nThe clinic will cover goal setting\, on the water coaching and de-brief. Riders can expect small friendly groups with expert coaching from former State Wave champion\, Anh-Dao Jeannerat and Luca de Prato. Anh-Dao is a kiteboarding instructor at Kitebud Kite School and her speciality is kitesurfing waves. Luca is an accomplished kite instructor and competitor\, passionate about helping riders push their limits. In the clinic Ahn-Dao and Luca will work on riding style\, technique and potentially include a small downwinder.\n\nSign Up Here\n\n FREESTYLE CLINIC \nRiders can expect small friendly groups and expert coaching from Shannon Ducker\, National and State freestyle and wave champion. The clinic is perfect for learning beginner\, intermediate and advanced tricks\, both hooked-in and unhooked. We will also cover goal setting\, aerial awareness\, water coaching & de-brief.\nThe clinic will be held on Saturday\, March 12th with rider briefing at approximately 12:30pm and coaching until 5pm. We will kite in Lancelin Lagoon opposite Eddies Island.\n\nSign Up Here\n\nRegistration is essential to participate. DESCRIPTION:Registration for this event closes at Thu 10 Feb 2022 21:00.\nKiteboarding Australia in conjunction with Kiteboarding Western Australia is thrilled to announce that in lieu of the Wave Nationals\, the Margaret River Quobba Classic as part of the Cabrinha National Wave Series will go ahead between the 11th and 13th of February.\n  \nThe opportunity to go forth with an event at Main Break\, Margaret River was too good to pass up despite the closed border putting a hold on the planned Wave Nationals. \nIt’s great news for the citizens of Western Australia who can head to Margs this weekend to get the opportunity to kite Main Break all to yourself and take part in a fun wave event! \nForecasts are suggesting great conditions for the event but we will follow with updates and a detailed schedule on Wednesday evening the 9th of February. \nFor riders that had already registered for the Wave Nationals\, your rego will cary into the ‘Classic’. For those who haven’t registered yet\, please jump on board and sign up today to assist with the planning of the event. \nWe thank everyone for their patience whilst we organise the logistics of the changed event plan. DESCRIPTION:We’re excited to introduce to you King of the Pond Presented by North! ⚡\n \n  \nKiteboarding WA will be hosting the big air comp in association with Big Air Kite League in Perth this summer. \nLocation – The Pond\, Safety Bay\, Rockingham\nDate – 15th – 16th of January 2022\nReserve dates: 14-16 January\, 28-30 January\, 4-6 February\, 11-13 February\, 18-20 February\, 25-27 February 2022. \nWe will celebrate life and this spectacular sport by coming together as a community and going absolutely nuts! \nHow it works…\nThe event is based on INVITATION ONLY. \nTo apply for an invitation\, please submit your best video entry. Your video will be judged as per the following weighting: \n• 60% Height. Go as hard and high as possible. The height in combination with move difficulty is priority\, but we will also take the horizontal distance traveled into account. \n• 40% Technicality. Controlled\, extreme\, difficult\, high moves. Think about extremely powered and/or extremely technical\, or ultimately a combination of this as long as it is performed at a proper height. \nYour videos will be judged by our panel of judges and the highest-ranked entries will be invited. These clinics will cater for both girls and guys and both unhooked and hooked tricks. Content will cover how to physically train for riding\, injury prevention\, how to ride/train for heats and finish with on the water coaching. Riders can expect small friendly groups with expert coaching from previous national champion and physiotherapist Dan Anderson and 2 x national champion Chrissy Gaudieri. \nRegistration is essential and riders will be provided with a free Duotone hoody and tee shirt to get your stoke going! The clinic will be held at The Pond\, Safety Bay on Sunday Jan 12th. The clinics will run from 1-5pm with riders meeting on the grass outside the new WestOz Kiteboarding headquarters (formerly WA Surf). The clinic is free of charge but all riders will need to be current members of KiteboardingWA aka Kiteboarding Australia for insurance purposes. The clinic is open to all non-sponsored riders that are looking to progress into old school (board offs\, one footer\, spins) or new school tricks (unhooking). \nRiders must be a member of KiteboardingWA (WAKSA/KA) and have a minimum standard of riding including: being able to ride upwind\, handle most conditions\, be comfortable with normal jumping and have no issues with relaunching. Riders can expect small friendly groups with expert coaching from past national champions and professional Duotone rider Dan Anderson. \nRegistration is essential and riders will be provided with a free Duotone hoody and tee shirt to get your stoke going! The clinic will be held at The Pond\, Safety Bay on Sunday Nov 18th. The clinics will run from 1-5pm with riders meeting on the grass outside the new WestOz Kiteboarding headquarters (formerly WA Surf). The clinic is free of charge but all riders will need to be current members of KiteboardingWA aka Kiteboarding Australia for insurance purposes. Further to this all candidates must also hold:\n\n\n\n\n\nA valid powerboating qualification\n\n\nA valid Apply First Aid qualification or equivalent\n\n\nA valid Kiteboarding Australia Membership\n\n\nShadow teaching (at a Kiteboarding Australia recognized (or approved) school) – let us know if this will be a problem\n\n\n\n\n\nKiteboarding Australia can put you in touch with centers for training in all of the above.
