Introducing our new logo! The first step towards becoming Kiteboarding Western Australia…
As voted at the WAKSA 2018 AGM, WAKSA will become “Kiteboarding WA” over the next coming months, KWA for short.
The new name brings us into line with the other state associations and better reflects our status as the peak sporting body for Kiteboarding in Western Australia, as recognised by the state government. This achievement was a first among all of the state associations across Australia.
Along with the name change, a new visual identity was developed based on feedback and submissions from our members and the wider kiteboarding community. The burnt orange colour represents the red dirt of the Pilbara region. The circle represents the setting sun over the Indian Ocean, a sight which will be familiar to many WA Kiteboarders. Finally, the silhouette of the kite is oriented in a way that visually represents the SW seabreeze we enjoy here in WA.
Together these elements represent Kiteboarding Western Australia!!
