Location Guide – Woodies – Beach Two

Excellent spot for those seeking flat water. Best suited to intermediate and expert kiters. Beginners should keep to beach one.

Local Guidelines

Patchy shallow reef depending on the tide and cobblers (stinging fish) in the weed.

Beach two is traditionally the windsurfers beach. Kiters are asked to use the alternative beaches or be prepared to allow a wide right of way to windsurfers at all times.

This is a very high risk area for thieves with regular car break-ins occuring all year round. Never even move away from an unlocked vehicle and always ensure that you do not leave any valuables in your car.

Directions
Approx 28kms South West of the CBD in the suburb of Coogee. Heading South from Fremantle along Cockburn Rd, turn right just after the white lighthouse into O’Kane Ct; left into Jervois Bay Cove, and then right into Woodman Point View.

Water Condition
Protected flat water suited to freestyle and freeride kiting. A little offshore and towards the point there are, at times, very small breaking swells that can provide ramps or an intro to wave riding

Beach Condition
Sharp shells that can cut kites if you are careless. Kites should be setup leaving a wide clear accessway from the carpark to the beach – so other beach users can avoid walking over kites and lines.
