Location Guide – City Beach

Heavy beach break with pounding waves, best suited to intermediate and expert kiters.

Due the popularity of this beach with families it is very important that all kiters show respect to other beach users.

• Do not launch or land between the groynes;
• Launch south of City Beach groyne (southern) or move 50m north of Floreat groyne;
• Kiters must also avoid the flagged areas in front of the Floreat SLSC;
• Do not kite near swimmers or other water users.

If the area you want to kite in is occupied move further along the beach to a safe spot.

Directions
Approx 10km from the CBD in the suburb of City Beach. Head West out of the City towards West Coast Highway and look for Challenger Parade. Park in the North carpark.

Water Condition
Heavy pounding beach break that can take a bit of effort to get through, but once out a decent swell will be coming through.

Beach Condition
Huge white sandy beach that is very popular with other beach users. Setup, launching and landing should be at least 50m north of the Floreat (northern) groyne or south of the City Beach groyne.
