AS OF SEPTEMBER 2010 A KITE EXCLUSION ZONE EXISTS AT MULLALOO BEACH:

Exclusion zone 2 commences 400m SOUTH of the West View Boulevard car park beach access path and finishes 300m NORTH of the car park and extends 200m offshore.

The designated launch/landing zone is between these exclusion zones. Signage on the beach shows where kiting is allowed – DO NOT launch or land kites outside the designated area and DO NOT kite through or in exclusion zones.

The downloadable location guide shows the designated launch/landing area at Mullaloo.

The surf club have patrolled areas identified by flags on the beach. Always remain outside flagged zones and 200m offshore.

Mullaloo is a popular family beach and becomes crowded during summer, especially on weekends. Kiters should seek an alternative location on light wind days (below 15 knots) due to the large number of other beach users on the beach.

Due to the high volume of beach/water users and the close proximity of the surf club, it is recommended that all kiters have public liability insurance. This is included with annual WAKSA membership.

Thieves operate in the car parks and on the beach, don”t leave any valuables in your vehicle or on the beach.
