About Kite & Wing Western Australia
The Official State Body for Kitebaording and Wingfoiling in WA
Kite & Wing WA (KWA) is the official state body for kiteboarding and wingfoiling in Western Australia. We represent the interests of all wing- and kite-based sport disciplines in Western Australia and aim to increase participation through promotion of safe practices, maintaining and advocating for beach access and developing the sport through exceptional events, training pathways, and sustainable financial and environmental practices. KWA is a member of Kiteboarding Australia, the national body for all things kite and wing.
Structure of KWA
KWA is governed by its paying members, who elect directors at the Annual General Assembly. These directors form the Board, which leads the organisation in line with our constitution and policies. While the Board sets the strategy and oversees the organisation, the bulk of the work is carried out by part-time staff and volunteers, who come together across the following sub-committees:
- Events & Participation
- Training & Pathways
- Governance & Finance
- Marketing & Communication
